What is the difference between Stroke OnDemand™ and Stroke OnDemand™ Premium?

Stroke OnDemand™ Premium provides over 150 hours of full-motion video from the International Stroke Conference, 2013, plus downloadable PDFs of the slides and MP3 audio. Also includes pre-conference sessions.  As a bonus, purchasers receive a complimentary DVD-ROM for on-the-go access. Stroke OnDemand™ Premium can be viewed on your PC, Mac and many Apple® and Android™ mobile devices.

Stroke OnDemand™, available beginning on 2/26/13, provides registered AHA/ASA professional members with access to audio MP3 recordings and PDF slides only (not full-motion video) of the presentations. Stroke OnDemand™ is only available to AHA/ASA professional members who activated their membership by February 8, 2013.

Sessions OnDemand™ is only available to AHA/ASA professional members who activated their membership by November 7, 2012.

Sessions OnDemand™ Premium can be purchased by both members and non-members. AHA/ASA Professional members who activated membership by November 7, 2012 receive a special member discount. How do I purchase Stroke OnDemand™ Premium or Sessions OnDemand™ Premium?

When will I receive my USB or DVD set?

They will begin mailing 6-8 weeks after the end of the conference.

I just want to access the slides and audio files, but I'm not an AHA member, what do I do?

Stroke OnDemand™ is only available to AHA/ASA professional members who activated their membership by February 8, 2013. Sessions OnDemand™ is only available to AHA/ASA Professional Members who activated their membership by November 7, 2012.

You may purchase Stroke OnDemand™ Premium 2013 and/or Sessions OnDemand™ Premium 2012, for online access and a USB drive (Sessions) or DVD-ROM (Stroke) of most of the conference presentations presented in full-motion video. Purchasers can also download the audio mp3 and slide PDFs (from a PC or Mac). In addition, view presentations from your iPad, iPhone, or Android 2.2 or better mobile device.

Where do I find a certain presentation?

You can search for presentations by session title, lecture title, or speaker name by using the search box on the top of this site or by using the search box within the online media player.

Not all of the presenters have allowed their presentations to be captured for this product. If you have searched and cannot find your presentation it may be that the presenter did not provide rights.

Login Questions

How do I login if I purchased onsite and have not bought or registered for a Sessions OnDemand™ or Stroke OnDemand™ product in the past?

If this is your first time accessing any Sessions OnDemand™ or Stroke OnDemand™ product:

  1. Click on the Login link at the top of the page.
  2. Login with the email address you used to purchase this product, and to which a confirmation was sent if you purchased online.
  3. Enter your temporary password:
    • For Stroke OnDemand™ Premium:  STROKE2013
    • For Sessions OnDemand™ Premium:  SESSIONS2012
  4. If this is your first time accessing the product, you will be prompted to enter a new password. This password must be at least 5 characters, and something that's easy for you to remember.

How do I login if I purchased, created an account or registered for Sessions OnDemand™ 2011-2012 or Stroke OnDemand™ 2010, 2011 or 2012?

If you have purchased or accessed any Stroke OnDemand™ or Sessions OnDemand™ product in prior years, you must use your existing account email id and the password you created. Please follow these instructions:

  1. Click on the Login link at the top of the page.
  2. Login with the email address you used to originally access the Sessions OnDemand™ or Stroke OnDemand™ product.
  3. Enter the password you created when you originally created your account.
  4. If you do not remember your password, please click on the Forgot Password link on the login page and you will be prompted through steps to create a new password

I want the complimentary Stroke OnDemand™ (PDFs and MP3) product, available beginning on March 4, 2013. How do I login if I have never purchased or registered for a Stroke OnDemand™ or Sessions OnDemand™ product in prior years?

You must be an AHA/ASA Professional member to register for and access this version.

  1. Click on the Register link in the middle column on the Home page.
  2. You will need your AHA/ASA Professional Member ID and will need to create a password.
  3. Your email address will be your user name. After you finish creating your account, you will need to Log In to complete registration.
  4. Access to Stroke OnDemand™ 2013 content will be available beginning March 4, 2013.
  5. You can register for Sessions OnDemand™ 2013 following the same steps.

I forgot my password, what should I do?

If you have already created an account but have forgotten your password, you may change your password by clicking here. Or, click on the Log In page and select the "Forgot Password?" link on that page.

How do I know if I have an account with this site?

You have an account if you:

  1. Registered for the AHA/ASA professional member product Sessions OnDemand™ in 2011 or 2012 or Stroke OnDemand™ in 2010, 2011 or 2012.
  2. Purchased either Stroke OnDemand™ Premium  in 2011, 2012 or 2013 or Sessions OnDemand™ Premium 2011 or 2012 – at the conference onsite booth or online through this website.

Where can I find my AHA/ASA Professional Membership Number?

To retrieve your AHA/ASA Professional Membership number, login to My.AmericanHeart.org with your username and password. Your Membership Number will be at the top of the page. You can also contact customer service: 1-800-787-8984 (U.S.) 1-301-223-2327 (Outside U.S.).

I had an account with Sessions OnDemand and/or Stroke OnDemand from a prior year, but I have changed my email address, what should I do?

If you have changed your email address since establishing the account in 2010, 2011 or 2012, please email us at AHA-customersupport@astutetech.com and one of our representatives can update the email address for you. Please include both your old and new email accounts in your support request.

Technical Questions

I have purchased Sessions OnDemand™ Premium or Stroke OnDemand™ Premium, but it won't play?

The Premium products require that you have installed Microsoft Silverlight software.

I am having trouble downloading Silverlight and viewing the presentations from my Mac- what should I do?

There are several steps you can take to try to resolve the issue. This may be due to your newer Mac running on a 64 bit browser, and Silverlight works best on a 32 bit browser. The steps are outlined below. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Step 1: Please close all browsers and restart your computer and then attempt to play the presentations.

Step 2: Please try downloading Silverlight and accessing the content under other browsers currently installed on your computer (Firefox, Chrome)

Next Steps: If the above fixes do not work, you will need to check if your browser is running in 32-bit mode or 64-bit by running the report at the following link: http://www.cyscape.com/showbrow.aspx?doJvmd=1

Look for an item in the results called "browser bit size" and it will say either : 32 bits or 64 bits.

Please note: Mac OS X 10.6 and newer defaults to 64-bit browser, so if it is a newer computer it may be running 64-bit browsers, and you will need to run on a 32 bit browser.

If it is running on a 64 bit browser, you will need to change it to 32 bit. To change from a 32 bit to 64 bit, please follow the instructions below.

  1. Click the "Finder" icon on the dock at the bottom of your screen.
  2. Select "Applications" at the left side of the Safari window.
  3. Press and hold the "Control" key on your keyboard and click the "Safari" icon.
  4. Click "Get Info" in the menu that appears.
  5. Click the "Open in 32-bit Mode" check box.
  6. Close the Safari Info window.
  7. Quit Safari by pressing "Cmd-Q" and then reopen Safari.

When complete, download Silverlight if it did not download properly before. If these steps do not resolve the problem, please contact us for additional troubleshooting.

I've connected my USB drive or DVD-ROM to my computer and nothing is happening-- what should I do?

If your computer has disallowed auto-run functionality, you may need to open the folder in which the drive appears and click on start.html to open the product.

I can't download the MP3 files or PDFs from my USB (Sessions)/DVD (Stroke) product -- what should I do?

The audio MP3 files and slide PDFs are downloadable from the online library only, and from your PC or Mac and not your mobile device. To access the online library, please go to www.sessionsondemand.org or www.strokeondemand.org from a PC or Mac, choose Meetings at the top of the page, and then the meeting you’d like to view. Once you browse the tracks, and select a session, you will see the PDF and MP3 button for download.

Mobile Questions

How do I access the videos on my mobile device?

To access the videos on your iPhone®, iPad® or Android™ mobile device, please enter the URL – www.strokeondemand.org or www.sessionsondemand.org, click Log In, enter your email address and password, and then select Meetings or Browse. You will see the available Cores, select one and then a Sessions and a Presentation. Then, click the presentation thumbnail graphic. This will launch the video of that presentation via your mobile device.

Why is the media player different on my mobile device versus what I see online on my desk computer or laptop?

The media player that you access online is a cross-meeting media player allowing you to search and navigate across tracks and sessions. The mobile media player at this time allows for view of single presentations only. To access another presentation in your mobile browser, simply navigate back to the browse meeting page and select your next video.

Can I download videos to my mobile device?

At this time, videos are streamed via your mobile device and cannot be downloaded.

How can I get an icon for this content on my iPhone or iPad?

To add an icon for this website on your iPhone or iPad, select the add icon at the bottom of the screen, and then select "Add to Home Screen". An icon will be created so that you can easily access this site in the future.

How can I get an icon for this content on my Android?

To add an icon for this content on your Android, follow these steps:

  1. Open your browser
  2. Go to www.sessionsondemand.org and bookmark this site
  3. Return to the main menu
  4. Select "Add to Home"
  5. Select "Shortcut"
  6. Select the bookmark you created in step 2

Sessions OnDemand™ LBCT Live Questions

What software do I need to access the Late Breaking Clinical Trial Live streams?

To access the Late Breaking Clinical Trial Live streams, you will need Adobe Flash Player installed on your computer.

The Live Stream is only viewable from a PC or Mac computer, and not from a mobile device or tablet. However, the archive versions are included in Sessions OnDemand™ Premium for purchasers, and can be viewed from both computer and mobile devices.

I purchased one or more of the Late Breaking Clinical Trial live streams and could not view them at the time of the presentation – can I view them?

If you purchased one or more of the Late Breaking Clinical Trial live streams, you will be able to access the archived version of those sessions 24 hours after the session concluded. To view, click here.

I have viewed the recorded version of the Late Breaking Clinical Trial session that I purchased, but when I try to view other sessions, I am not allowed - -what can I do?

The recorded version of each LBCT live session is available for those sessions that were purchased. To view all other sessions from the AHA Scientific Sessions 2012, you can purchase Sessions OnDemand™ Premium. To learn more, click here.
